Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model offers a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Vacation in architectural monument (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.

Parking: The public car park is about 150m from the house (above the village). The car park is free, not covered. Access to the house is guaranteed. Luggage or shopping can be unloaded in front of the house. 

Public transport: The bus stop is 20 metres away.

Number of persons 4: A baby cot (up to 2 years) is available. The house can accommodate four guests (plus baby). From the common staircase (together with the flat upstairs) there is a door to the living room, the kitchen and the bathroom with shower and toilet. A small staircase leads from the kitchen to the rear living area, where a corridor leads to the two double bedrooms. From the rear corridor there is another door that leads to the side street, from where you reach the outside area of the Türali house (adjacent barn with courtyard). The floors are made of stone and wood and we recommend good slippers.


Garden: No garden

WLAN: Is not available. You are welcome to use the WLAN in the Gasthaus am Brunnen. Please ask for the password at the inn. 

Open: The house can be rented all year round.

Pets: Pets are allowed on request. 

Altitude: 820 metres above sea level.

IMPORTANT ADDITION
The Türalihus is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric. The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care. Although the technical equipment is up-to-date, certain functional details do not meet current standards and are a potential source of danger. The tenant is aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the foundation Vacation in architectural monument disclaim any liability.

    “Wir konnten erholsame Tage in Valendas verbringen. Positiv: Die historischen Räume und die sehr präzise Renovation. Negativ: Grundausstattung Küche dürfte noch etwas umfassender sein. Restaurant: Gasthof am Brunnen - Präzise Küche Ausflüge: Rheinschlucht - Spaziergang”

    “Ein großes Dankeschön an den Schweizer Heimatschutz für diese herrliche Woche! Positiv: Eine wunderbare Gelegenheit, in einem etwa 500 Jahre alten Haus zu wohnen. Das auf eine sehr dezente und stimmige Weise instand gesetzt wurde, wie man es nur selten sieht. Negativ: Bei 188 cm Körpergröße waren gab es mehrfach Kontakt mit den deutlich niedrigeren Türrahmen - das war es aber wert.”

    - Agencement de l'appartement un peu compliqué

    “Ein Haus, das uns lehrt, wie bescheiden vor 500 Jahren auch die Patrizier gelebt haben. Gute Lage. Mitten in einem Ort mit schönem Dorfbild und bester Infrastruktur fürs tägliche Leben. Positiv: Die Verbindung zur Historie ist beeindruckend. Die Epochen aus längst vergangenen Zeiten lassen sich an Wänden, Decken und erhaltenen Strukturen ablesen. Mobiliar, Geschirr, Bettwäsche alles qualitativ top,und sehr passend.
    Freundliche, unkomplizierte Ansprechpartnerin vor Ort! Frau Zinsli pflegt und putzt die alten Böden und Gemäuer tadellos. Negativ: Weil die Wohnung bewusst in alter Patina belassen wurde ist sie etwas düster und ähnelt an die Häuser im Ballenberg Freilichtmuseum. Mit dem Unterschied, dass im Türalihus nun gewohnt werden will. Die Küche hätte eine Abwaschmaschine vertragen. Weniger Wasserverbrauch! Wer gerne für 4 Personen kocht und dementsprechend abzuwaschen hat kommt etwas in Platznot.”
